The Compound Carbon Activator drops from Elite enemies in two Infiltration Operations in White-night Gulch: Bio-Lab and Mystery’s End. You can play them on any difficulty, but Hard drops more materials.

Your best option to farm this material is to run a private Mystery’s End mission on Hard difficulty. Play until you reach a room with a metal hand and an Elite Warden. Kill the Warden to get the Compound Carbon Activators, leave, restart the mission, and do it again.

Playing in private allows you to leave and restart missions without ruining the game for random players. There’s no need to finish the mission as there aren’t any Elite enemies after this point, only the final boss in case you need Amorphous Materials tied to it. You can get a group of friends or other players if you don’t want to farm together, but once again, run the mission in private.

One Elite enemy drops six Compound Carbon Activators on average. To craft Descendant components, like Ajax Stabilizer and Kyle Spiral Catalyst, you need 30 of these Activators, so be prepared to run this loop at least five times if you’re crafting them.
