As you make your way through The First Descendant, each action you make takes you one step closer to leveling up your Mastery Rank and individual Descendants. This guide tells you what the maximum levels are in The First Descendant and how to level up.
What is the max level in The First Descendant?
In The First Descendant, you separately increase your Mastery Rank and level up your Descendants. The maximum Mastery Rank is 30, and the maximum level for Descendants is 40. Increasing both is key to becoming stronger in The First Descendant and then being able to tackle the hardest content in the game.
Mastery Rank and levels in The First Descendant, explained
The Mastery Rank is your overall level, which is then tied to the account. Increasing this Mastery Rank grants you access to new features, including increased Module capacity for your Descendants and weapons. Those features are necessary for you to craft the most optimal builds and dominate the battlefield.
You can increase the Mastery Rank by completing missions, increasing Weapon Proficiency, and leveling up your Descendants. After you meet the necessary EXP requirements, you have to manually rank up.
Every Descendant also has an individual Descendant level that affects their stats and skill power, and increasing it is a separate process. A newly researched Descendant starts at level 10, and to bring them up to speed, complete lower-level First Descendant missions and quests, as well as defeat enemies and bosses.
This is something you’ll have to do for every character you unlock, as you can’t just take a Descendant and send them to max-level content.
