Console gamers have been itching to have a crack at VALORANT since its 2020 release. Fortunately, Riot Games brought its biggest FPS to consoles with a few new and exciting features.
While the game is the same as on PC, a five-vs-five competitive shooter, there are new achievements, a new way to aim, and a revamped training program on consoles. So, if you’re wondering if VALORANT’s available on your Xbox or PlayStation, here’s everything you need to know.
Is VALORANT on Xbox or Playstation?
The Riot developers rolled out VALORANT’s beta for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 14 in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Europe, and Japan regions. You can participate in the console limited beta by registering on the official website.
Additionally, console players can’t play against PC players, as the developers didn’t add crossplay to maintain competitive integrity. However, you do get cross-progression, which lets you continue your account’s XP progression and tap into your skin collection across PCs and consoles.
Will VALORANT be available for PS4 or Xbox One?
No, VALORANT will not be available on PS4 and Xbox One because Riot plans to expand only to the latest consoles. This means VALORANT won’t offer backward compatibility either, and you’ll have to wait for the developers to announce whether the game’s release for the old-gen consoles is on the roadmap.
The developers also reintroduced Haven into the active maps in patch 8.11, with the new map Abyss entering the pool with patch 9.02. While PC players have access to all these maps, console players will be limited to only a handful of them for now, and they also won’t have access to Competitive until a future update.
