Console gamers have been itching to have a crack at VALORANT since its 2020 release. Fear not controller users, a selection of you might have access—just not the way you’d hoped. Riot’s had multiple games make the jump to consoles, but VALORANT never has.
Rival FPS’ like CS:GO have attempted this feat with little to no success. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility. There isn’t a date to expect VALORANT’s console arrival, so you’ll have to wait a little longer. With any luck, we’ll be able to flick our analog sticks and headshot Jett mains in no time.
Is VALORANT on Xbox or Playstation?
VALORANT is currently on the Game Pass. However, it’s only available for PC gameplay. Since both PCs and Xbox are in Microsoft’s domain, the FPS is still a part of the game pass.
In last year’s Xbox showcase, it was revealed the Xbox Game Pass would be partnering with Riot to unlock special perks for players. This includes unlocking different card packs in Legends of Runeterra, unlocking every champion in League of Legends, and every agent in VALORANT.

In addition to Riot’s partnership with Microsoft and Xbox, a VALORANT leaker on Twitter revealed Riot added two new icons to the game for both PlayStation and Xbox. These were found in the game files after the release of Patch 5.03. While Riot has not made any official statements about the future platforms of VALORANT, there have been multiple leaks suggesting it could be coming to consoles in the near future.
VALORANT has been compared to FPS titles like Counter-Strike and Overwatch since 2020 due to the mixture of gunplay and abilities.
While Counter-Strike is also strictly PC-based, Overwatch has always been available on multiple platforms. Overwatch has had success with being an FPS title with abilities on platforms like Xbox, giving hope VALORANT could have similar success.
When is VALORANT coming to consoles?
VALORANT is definitely coming to consoles sooner or later. We’ll be on the edge of our seats until it’s officially announced. The only thing we can do now is speculate and pray for its arrival. At this time there is no indication VALORANT will be available for console players in 2023. For now, we’ll keep you updated when any new information is revealed.
