Your only requirement to start Of Pacts and Patrons is to finish the campaign story of the Azj-Kahet zone. Once that’s done, the quest will pop up automatically on your map. To start the quest, you must talk to the NPC Widow Arak’nai. She’s a giant spider located in The Weaver’s Lair, at coordinates 55.6, 43.7. She gives you the quest, and you need to speak to the following representatives of the Severed Threads faction:

  • Bobbin (Eye of the Weaver)
  • Anub’okki (Disciple of Anuub’azal)
  • Tulumun (Assistant to the Executor)

By talking to all three NPCs, you learn the pacts of the Weaver, General, and Vizier, after which you have to hand in the quest to another NPC, Y’tekhi.

Y’tekhi is a Renown Quartermaster of the Severed Threads faction, and you can find her The Weaver’s Lair, at coordinates 55.33, 41.2. Hand in the quest to her and choose one of the three pacts that you wish to pursue. The quest ends when you choose your pact, but you also gain a new way to farm Severed Threads Reputation by doing weekly commissions and quests for your pact. It’s a great way to increase your Renown rank and get some good gear and recipes.
