The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is full of strange items you might not know what to do with, including the Flux Construct Core.
If you feel a little bit daring in Tears of the Kingdom, you might come across a small miniboss in the Great Sky Island that will test your newly found combat abilities.
Although it’s a bit of a monster to deal with if you’re early in your playthrough, you may still be able to overcome it with the help of meals and elixirs that grant you additional attack or defense. After defeating it, you can enjoy all the loot it drops and prepare to go about your merry way. But you may also be wondering about that weird, large, green device that doesn’t seem to have any use whatsoever.
We are, of course, talking about the Flux Construct Core, an item that drops from the miniboss that can’t be picked up or used at all on first glance. We did eventually find it has a use though—sort of. But that mainly depends on the abilities you currently have at your disposal.
What does the Flux Construct Core do in Tears of the Kingdom?
The Flux Construct Core can be fused with either the shield or weapon you are holding to give them a massive damage boost. So to get the best out of this item, you first need to have gone to the In-isa Shrine on the floating island and picked up the Fuse ability.
The item does nothing by itself, otherwise. It can’t be picked up, and if you leave it there it’ll just despawn.
Other than that, don’t expect to get more uses. The power boost is useful, though, and will definitely help you on your way—especially if you plan to use all the resources on the tutorial island or want to take a look at the various Gacha machines littered around.
Where to find Flux Construct Core 2 and Flux Construct Core 3
You can also find other higher-strength cores littered across the sky in various mini-bosses. These are equally as powerful and should be sought after to make a lot of strong weapons especially as you get into the late game and start taking on bosses and temples, as well as Ganon.
The bosses themselves can be pretty difficult but don’t be discouraged! Everything is useful when it comes to fusing.
