Here's how to find this elusive item.

Throughout your journey in Tears of the Kingdom, you will encounter Skyview Towers that can unlock sections of the map. Almost every Skyview Tower has an obstruction of some kind you must overcome. At the Sahasra Skyview Tower, a Rito named Billson will ask you to find Billson mushrooms to help him open the seemingly locked door.

Whenever I first stumbled across Billson at the Sahasra Skyview Tower, I searched all around for these Billson mushrooms. From visiting the cave below to the entire area around the Skyview Tower, I could not find any Billson mushrooms. As it turns out, this was for good reason.

If you are looking for Billson mushrooms or are just trying to get into the Sahasra Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom, we have bad news.

Billson mushrooms are a lie

Billson’s mushrooms just exist inside their head. You can’t find mushrooms inside the cave under the Sahasra Skyview Tower. That means you, Link, are the chosen one to open the tower doors.

The only way to do that is by using the Ascend ability in a specific spot inside this cave.

Step-by-step guide on how to get inside the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower in TOTK

The video below shows me going from the front of the Sahasra Skyview Tower to the actual point where you have to Ascend to get inside and unlock the tower. Check the video out and, if you have any questions, read the written step-by-step guide after it.

  1. Find the front of the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower. You can get there by going from the tower in Central Hryule and heading southeast. The tower is on top of a small hill, in the exact coordinates 1348, -1160, 0161.
  2. Get any weapon, like a sword, that you can fuse an item onto. You will need it.
  3. Glide down the hill to the left of the tower. Or you can do it the hard way like I did above and go around it and just then drop down. The cave entrance is marked by bare soil while everything around it is grass.
  4. Enter the cave.
  5. Use your Fuse ability to attach the small rock on your left to any weapon you have so you make a small hammer. Any weapon stronger than a torch should pack enough punch for the job. I used a Thick Stick.
  6. Swing your newly made hammer on the wall of boulders in front of you until you see an opening with two new boulder walls, one on your right and another on your left.
  7. Break the boulder wall on your left. It’s a lot of boulder layers, and it took me some time to burst them all.
    • Nothing bad will happen if you break the right wall, but there will be Horriblins guarding some loot in there. Be prepared.
  8. You will see a big stone with two small stones next to it. Use your Ultrahand to move the big stone away. You can move it anywhere, just leave its spot clear.
  9. Stand between the two small stones, where the big stone was. The coordinates are 1338, -1182, 0132.
  10. Hold L to equip your Ascend ability. Move around just a little if you don’t see the green grid showing you can ascend.
  11. Press A to ascend.
  12. When you’re finished ascending, you will be inside the tower. Look at the door, and you will see two wood bars locking it. Pick both of them up or move them away with your Ultrahand to release the pressure.
  13. Walk to the door and press A to open it. A cinematic video will trigger and you will be able to activate the tower.
