Overwatch League season one champions London Spitfire have parted ways with coach Park “Changg” Chang-geun.
Following the team’s championship win in late July, the Overwatch League team will slim down its coaching staff. Coaches Kim “Jfeel” Jeong-min and Hong “Agape” Cheol-yong remain. The organization has not announced a replacement for Changg.

“Despite the ups and downs of the season, Changg helped the Spitfire come away with the third-best map differential at the end of the regular season and helped lead the Spitfire on a remarkable run through the playoffs, culminating in being crowned the first-ever Overwatch League champions,” a London Spitfire representative said in a statement posted on the organization’s site.
Changg first joined London Spitfire when APAC Premier 2017 champions GC Busan were acquired by Spitfire owner Cloud9 in October 2017. London Spitfire did not list a reason for Changg’s departure from the team.
In March, London Spitfire dropped head coach Lee “Bishop” Beom-joon from the Overwatch League team, right in the middle of the inaugural season. No reason was given for his mid-season departure from the Overwatch League team.
Although the Overwatch League’s regular season and playoffs have finished, Overwatch League players have one more event left in the inaugural season: the All-Star Weekend. The All-Star Weekend kicks off on Aug. 25 with a series of skill-based matches, followed by the All-Star Game on Aug. 26. Once the weekend is through, players and staff will be free to rest and restructure for the Overwatch League’s second season, which is expected to begin in 2019.
